Hiring

The Human Resources and Quality Systems Department conducts preliminary interviews with candidates selected from Kartonsan's existing CV pools and from the responses to advertisements to determine the people who will be recalled for a second interview.

These second interviews are conducted by the departments that will be doing the actual hiring.

On the basis of these second interviews, a short list of people who will be called back for a third interview is drawn up. During this interview, candidates are informed about the specific job description and the salary and benefits being offered.

Those who are to be hired are notified and requested to provide whatever additional documentation that may be required.

Job applicants who are deemed unsuitable for a position are notified in writing.

Orientation

People who have been newly hired by Kartonsan are put through position-appropriate orientation programs that are conducted by the Human Resources and Quality Systems Department and monitored by the heads of the departments for which they have been recruited. After completing orientation, new recruits begin a two-month on-the-job trial period during which their performance is observed. At the completion of this trial period, work agreements are concluded with those recruits who are deemed to be suitable.

Job Applications

A normal staffing chart has been prepared for each Kartonsan department. This chart is reviewed annually on an individual department basis. Departmental managers notify the human resources department in situations where they believe that they are understaffed and/or that changes in staffing norms should be made. These requests are evaluated and changes are made as are deemed to be necessary and appropriate.

Maintenance

Machining Craftsman (Lathe / Milling)

We are looking for a Machining Craftsman to join our production plant.

  • Location: Kocaeli (Production Plant)
  • Employment type: Full-time
Responsibilities
  • Carrying out the necessary work, in line with the work orders assigned, to ensure that the production machinery is mechanically safe and in working order
  • Performing machining operations to keep the production machinery in mechanically sound working condition
  • Carrying out planned, periodic, improvement-oriented and breakdown mechanical maintenance work as well as welded fabrication in line with the work orders assigned
  • Performing machining operations on milling, lathe, drilling, sawing and shaping machines in line with the work requests received
  • Performing the required balancing operations on the balancing machine
  • Carrying out all mechanical assembly work required during project activities
  • Performing, where necessary within the scope of the role, the tasks assigned by the line manager in accordance with the relevant instructions, procedures, on-the-job training, etc.
  • Carrying out autonomous maintenance activities for the equipment in the area of responsibility, such as calibration, verification, lubrication and parts replacement
  • Ensuring and maintaining the order and cleanliness of the work area (in line with the 5S principle)
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a relevant department of a vocational high school or vocational college
  • Experienced in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance or machining
  • Able to use hand tools, maintenance equipment and measuring instruments
  • Attaches importance to occupational health and safety rules
  • Team-oriented, responsible and solution-focused

Maintenance

Electrical Maintenance Craftsman

We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Craftsman to join our production plant.

  • Location: Kocaeli (Production Plant)
  • Employment type: Full-time
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the entire electrical system within the factory is installed, maintained and repaired in accordance with the general electrical specification
  • Ensuring, where required and in line with the instructions, that the Power Plant, the boilers and the auxiliary facilities are commissioned, that electricity and steam are produced at the required quality and conditions, and that they are taken out of service in accordance with the instructions
  • Producing electricity and steam at the required quality and conditions
  • Performing the periodic maintenance of the turbines and boilers and having the workplace and the equipment used kept clean
  • Performing all maintenance and installation work related to electrical systems
  • Responding to all faults related to electrical systems
  • Taking part in new electrical projects to be carried out within the factory
  • Carrying out autonomous maintenance activities for the equipment in the area of responsibility, such as calibration, verification, lubrication and parts replacement
